Fall Gratitude & Giving Back with Every Step

The fall season has been a meaningful one, filled with opportunities to give back to the community and support causes close to my heart. I had the privilege of participating in two impactful fundraising events, both of which reinforced my commitment to making a difference.
In September, I joined Royal LePage realtors from across Canada at our annual conference. Together, we raised an incredible $450,000, which will benefit women’s shelters across the country. I had the chance to fundraise, explore, work and learn together with realtors from Kamloops to Prince Edward Island, expanding my network to better serve my clients. It was a powerful reminder of how collaboration can lead to meaningful change.
In October, I participated in the NightLight Walk, a fundraising event in support of Harmony House, one of Ottawa's  women’s shelters. The event raised an impressive $30,230, which will help provide shelter, safety, and support for women and children in need. It was a deeply moving experience, walking alongside my colleagues, clients, and community members to make a real impact in the lives of those who need it most.
In my role as a real estate professional, I’m proud to support the Shelter Foundation with every transaction I complete. Every Transaction Makes a Difference, and by donating $100 from each deal, I’m contributing to the ongoing work of these vital organizations. Together, we can help create lasting change and provide a safer, brighter future for those who need it most.
With today seeing a few snowflakes in the air, my neighbourhood group, the Glabar Park Community Association, is working hard preparing for another season on the ODR (outdoor rink). Did you know that most of the outdoor rinks in Ottawa are run by dedicated community volunteers? Much like all the associations across Ottawa, our association is always in need of help to flood the ice and keep the fieldhouse open for family skates. Wherever you call home in Ottawa, if you’re interested in volunteering or learning how you can get involved at your local rink, please reach out, and I’ll connect you with the right people. It’s a wonderful way to give back and enjoy the winter season with your community. Fill out the contact form here, or go over to my instagram @prescotthomesottawa to shoot me a message.
As the holiday season approaches, I encourage everyone to find ways to give back and support causes that are meaningful to them. Every step counts, whether through a donation, a volunteer effort, or simply spreading kindness in our communities.
